Working on the up coming post it show
The end of year is coming and I’m working on few annual winter shows that I’m in every year. One of it is a Post It show at Giant Robot gallery in LA. This is their 15th year!!! I’m yet to attend since it’s in LA but I always hear that people line up for few blocks to get into the opening day. That’s because all the works are only $25 and hundreds of talented artists participating to the show. I wish I can go one year and get some of my favorite artists’ work :)
For this show I was drawing some characters from Inktober and I got obsessed with the bad apple character. Now I’m drawing her in different poses. Those are made with brush pen, Posca markers, and Small circled stickers. I will post once more when the invitation is ready!

Solo Exhibition Oct 8th Brooklyn NY!
Hello everyone!
I'm having a solo exhibition opening next week!
Hope you can come to the opening reception.
This is the first time showing mostly my ceramic work in NY.
I have been very lucky finding very good ceramic studios to work in NY, the series I will show this time are mostly the work I made at Brick House Ceramic Art Center in LIC. (And I will have some work from Greenwich House Pottery) It was a challenging to get use to new clay and glaze but with many people's help at Brick House, I was able to complete this series which I'm very happy with. Very big thank you to Brick House.
I hope you can come and see the show!

Hello Tokyo!!! I'm having a show at Midnight Gallery OPP in Roppongi. I'm especially excited because it's a show with Masumi Hara who is an illustrator that I have been admiring since I was young. First time I saw his illustration was on Banana Yosimoto's novel and since then I was drawn into his beautiful strong eyed women he paints. It is like a dream comes true to be paired with such an accomplished artist! Thank you ArtLife for putting this event together!!!

Grace and Ritual: Hidden opening May 9th LA
Hello!I am 8 bit is putting together a group show in L.A. I have one ceramic sculpture in this show, if you are in L.A Please come and visit my little ceramic friend! You can see more info at: https://www.facebook.com/events/1539734432919779/
For this group show I made this "ToTai Island Cave Seal Ritual Mask"
<Making of> It's made out of Ceramic Clay --> Black and white slip--->Clear Glazed
Black Slip with clear glaze created a very nice deep blue. Finishing up making the headdress with colorful Pompoms.
<What is Cave seal ritual mask?!> In ToTai Island (this is my imaginary island) every house owns their version of unique cave seal mask. When there is an event of the island or the family they put the mask on their door to announce. Depending on how headdress is display people in the island know exactly what the event is.
Here is some example! Marriage in the family
When the Island is fighting with other tribe
Now you can visit ToTai Island and you know what's going on when you see the mask at someone's door!

Hello.Hope you are surviving the never ending winter in NY (if you are in NY)... I'm fighting with this weather by wearing extra bright cloths today.
Image for the CD cover from a Japanese client came in. It's nice to see the old work reused in something completely new and different! This CD is like a book on tape, with a Japanese actress Mamiko Noto reading popular literatures by Japanese authors. You can purchase this from - ----> amazon.jp store
With the release of this CD, there will be an event in the end of April in Japan. And will be a small solo exhibition of my drawings and paintings at the space. I will let you know the details once it's near!!
Post It Show 9
It's Post-it time of the year again! This year I was traveling while making these images so I had a limited material options to create these. I think the limitation brought out something new in me, I got to be more experimental and loose up a bit, and it was super fun making them. Here is the info for the show. If you are in LA area you are lucky! Because there will be 300 great artists' work for $25 each! I wish I can be there, too. Happy Post-it show!
